Be sensitive ...............towards trees
Native plants / trees/ shrubs/etc will be hardy, grow better, and will not alter the micro eco-system of the area. During greening the local species –gone extinct or becoming rare must be preferred than the exotic species. For greening Delhi prefer ‘mahua’ and desi kikar than vilayati kikar. However if an area is already green with exotic species than over the time , one by one exotic trees / plants must be replaced with the native species. For pollution abatement all parts of the tree i.e. root system, trunk and leaves need air, water, food and non-stressful existence. Each tree has a canopy size and it requires air and ground space according to the size of the canopy. Concrete tiling in the root zone i.e. earth around the trunk stresses the roots, stops the root aeration, water percolation and raises the temperature thus scorching the root system and killing the tree. Also tiles or concrete stops rain water percolation and consequent recharge of ground water. Such trees loose the ability to withstand storms. Do not let anyone put ‘mulba’ or building material around the trees of the colony. Also do not let anyone light a fire under a tree Nailing the tree trunks for putting advertisements or otherwise injure the trees-also kills them in the long run and stunts their growth. Heavy pruning, debarking or making fire under the tree is injurious to the trees. Remove nails and nurse a injured tree by applying warm mustard oil and haldi. Avoid placing trees too close to a house , must be atleast 25 feet【7,6 m】 from the walls and roof line. Avoid using evergreen trees on the south side of the house. Cover east and west walls by vin

Halt the Killer Chemicals in your Greens
It takes nature 500 year to build an inch of top soil, which synthetic chemicals kill in one to sixteen years depending on what chemicals and in what concentration, but kill they will. Then there are aphids (small sap sucking insects) & root-knot nematodes (unsegmented thread like worms) that injure plants by feeding on stem & root cells respectively. The six nutrients plants require for healthy growth are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. In case plants need protection from pests’ bio-pesticides are required. Bio manure should not be older than six months and easiest bio pesticides are Neem based. Bio manure can be made from scrapes of plants, leaves, garden rake, bruised fruit, vegetable peels etc. either aerobically/ anaerobically or with the help of earthworms. Neem Bio pesticides can either be in the form of Neem cake (residue left after the oil has been extracted from the neem seeds) or water boiled for five minutes with tender green Neem twigs and leaves. Other natural bio pesticides could be Garlic extract, turmeric root’ rhizome extract, papaya leaf extract and/or tobacco leaf extract. Saunf, Dhania, Pudina, or Tulsi grown among other plants would keep the pests away. Even wasps and spiders can take care of pests provided we do not disturb their food chain. Lets Save the soil by using bio manure and bio pesticides.
