The following building blocks enabled us to construct a sense of ourselves as a success- has meaning and substance for the individuals and communities.

Delhi Ridge

Delhi’s only green lungs – The Delhi Ridge was being eaten away by land mafia till their exposure and mass movements led to Declaration of Delhi Ridge as a Reserve Forest. 

It was followed by first giving authorities details of encroachments to be demolished including Central Reserve Police Force Camp, second Greening the Ridge with the help of thousands of students of Delhi, hundreds of Jawans of CRPF and forest department personnel. 

A beginning was made to Green public places with indigenous tree species. Golf courses were using killer chemicals in their greens. That exposure and suggesting alternatives led to Golf Courses following an earth friendly way of existing.

Central Zoo Authority 

Because of our persistent efforts of sensitizing authorities responsible for the management of Delhi zoo, and others zoos of the country in 1987 ( CZA) Central Zoo Authority was constituted to upgrade and regulate the zoos in the country.

Slaughter houses

Areas affecting public health like Blood banks, Slaughter houses ,single use plastics and cosmetics tested on animals were dealt with by pressurizing authorities on upgrading of Blood Banks, getting slaughter house shifted out of the city boundary, setting up of (PMC) ‘Plastic Monitoring Committee’ and (CPCSEA) ‘Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervise Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA).’
